“Our highest, most important duty in this world is to help our fellow beings.”
- Amma

Trophies (whether from the film industry or anywhere else) are relatively ephemeral. I'm grateful for them, but mostly because they give credibility to living a life that is focused on service.

Acts of love and compassion have the potential to ring throughout time and space in unfathomable ways. Using talent for good, and dedicating time to help one another, is, for me, part of the joy of being alive. Selfless service brings energy. It invites Inspiration and Healing for oneself and others.

HUMANITARIAN WORK

We all have the capacity to improve things. We all have the power to make changes for the better - internally and externally. I've had the honor to direct and work on projects that have resulted in unimaginable global contributions. Over time (and of course punctuated by a few zillion mistakes) I've learned that patience, determination and steadfast enthusiasm ultimately welcome miracles.

In 2005 Ruth founded Eagle Vision Initiatives Inc, a not-for-profit arts and communications organization whose mission is to create unprecedented bridges of communication and resources for children and youth living in war zones. She has been organizing weekly food drives to homeless shelters since 2004 (having personally delivered 3,980 brimming shopping carts of organic bread and produce to date). In 2017, she created Stand Tall For Trees, a free resource for how to plant and care for trees in any climate.

These are just a few of her humanitarian endeavors. The list of successful service-based initiatives is extensive and continues to grow each year.
